Comedy Hall of Fame Foundation

The Comedy Hall of Fame Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization, is the charitable arm of the Comedy Hall of Fame. The Foundation was established to implement educational initiatives that raise awareness of comedy's power to communicate.

THE POWER OF COMEDY

Our educational program, LAUGH IT OUT, uses the language of laughter to teach critical communication skills by bringing accredited improvisation classes into the New York City Public Schools.

AN AVENUE OF COMMUNICATION

In a traditional school day, students have information thrust upon them by way of lectures and “chalk-and-talk” instruction. Conversely, LAUGH IT OUT classes offer collaborative, interdisciplinary, active methods that engage students and provide an outlet for self-expression.

LAUGH IT OUT highlights the student’s role in his or her own education through participation and, in the process, builds confidence, teaches collaboration, and provides tools needed for success in school and life. These tools can mean the difference between completing a secondary education and dropping out.
